Learn Web Design 101

As the old saying goes, "If you want to learn something go to the source it came from". If you ever look at any website's source code one of the first things you'll find is the "declaration of compliance" with W3. So it makes perfect sense to look there to find out what you need to comply to. You'll find great tutorials with interactive live examples. To start with you will want to go with the first language of the web, that being "Html". You won't need to go anywhere else to learn any aspect of it. It's all here! Knowing Html will open all sorts of doors. You will be able to tell what you are looking at when you "crack" open a page's source code. You'll be able to write much more interactively in emails, forums, irc chat, you name it. You can even make your own little graphics and smiley's. I would seriously recommend jumping into Xml once you feel familiar with Html. All the newer generation sites use Xml/Xhml and W3 is pushing it as the future preferred language. It's a little more advanced, but not much. You will want to concentrate on javascripting and Css to accompany your Html. That too can be found there as well.
