Antarctic Job Opportunities. Don't forget your "Muff" !

Recently while listening to "Off the Hook", 2600 Hacker Quarterly's finest Podcast/Radio Show a guest caller was being interviewed from a Antarctic research station detailing life there and how anyone can find a job there. Some research using the references given turned up some interesting results. The one to contact is Raytheon Company Talent Acquisition
"Under contract to the National Science Foundation (NSF), Raytheon Polar Services Company (RPSC) provides science, operations, logistics, information technology, construction, and maintenance support at three Antarctic locations. RPSC seeks employees willing to invest their talents, time and energy to ensure the success of the NSF's United States Antarctic Program (USAP). In return, we offer a satisfying and rewarding work environment, a well-balanced comprehensive pay and benefits package, generous recognition and incentive plans, practical training, and innovative quality-of-life programs."
To find out about employment opportunities with the USAP, visit the Employment page.
Learn more about the United States Antarctic Program by visiting the USAP web site at www.usap.govExternal government site.
There are some University Systems that provide opportunities also. Either as a student or possibly in some supporting employed role. The largest of these projects is a long term one named (Quite Appropriately) "IceCube" found through the Univ. of Wisconsin. There are a few different areas worth checking out through them.
